Hegseth: DDG 121 and DDG 112 passed through the Strait of Hormuz
Washington, April 11 (Hibya) - U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that U.S. Navy warships passed through the Strait of Hormuz and carried out operations as part of mine-clearing activities in the region.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made a statement about the military activities being carried out regarding navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Arab Gulf.
Sharing the assets participating in the operation and the purpose of the mission, Hegseth stated:
"USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG 121) and USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) operated in the Arab Gulf after passing through the Strait of Hormuz as part of a broader mission aimed at ensuring the complete clearance of naval mines from the strait that had previously been laid by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps."
