Kristersson: Violence against politicians is never acceptable
Stockholm, April 26 (Hibya) - Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson made a statement following the incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Kristersson emphasized that any violence and threats against politicians and members of the press directly weaken the democratic order, stating: “Violence and threats against politicians and journalists undermine democracy and are never acceptable.”
Referring to those affected by the incident, Kristersson sent a message of solidarity to all participants, especially the Swedish journalists who attended the dinner. He noted that such incidents create serious pressure on freedom of expression and democratic participation.
