Lahbib: EU Emergency Response Coordination Centre ready to act
Brussels, July 30 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that the EU Emergency Response Coordination Centre is closely monitoring developments and is ready to take action to provide assistance.
Lahbib stated that the 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Russia is one of the strongest ever recorded and has affected the entire Pacific region.
She noted that tsunami warnings were issued for Japan and the United States, adding, “The EU Emergency Response Coordination Centre is closely monitoring the situation and stands ready to assist.”
