Lahbib: EU solidarity continues as Nepal grapples with the aftermath of floods
Brussels, September 7 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that humanitarian aid supplies had been delivered to flood-hit Nepal under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib made a statement on the international relief operation launched following the floods in Nepal and the EU's support for the crisis-affected area.
Drawing attention to the situation in the region and the delivery of aid, Lahbib said, "As Nepal grapples with the aftermath of the floods, EU solidarity continues. Today, the first plane carrying aid supplies donated by Norway through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism landed in Nepal and delivered medical, energy and technical equipment."
Stating that field operations would continue, Lahbib concluded her remarks by saying, "More flights are on the way."
