Brussels, July 9 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that forest fires in Syria have displaced thousands of people.
EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib announced that forest fires in Syria have forced thousands to flee their homes.
She noted that the fires disrupted vital services and devastated rural communities: "This situation has further deepened an already complex humanitarian crisis. The EU has activated the Earth Observation application of its Space Program to support local response efforts with satellite imagery."
