Lahbib: Medical and humanitarian staff must be protected in South Sudan
Brussels, May 3 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, stated that following the bombing of a hospital in Old Fangak, South Sudan, "medical and humanitarian personnel must be protected."
Commissioner Lahbib expressed horror over reports of the bombing of the MFS South Sudan hospital in Old Fangak.
She said civilians were killed and essential medical services destroyed, stressing: "International Humanitarian Law must be respected and medical and humanitarian staff must be protected."
