Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Prime Minister Spajic said that World Press Freedom Day is a day to celebrate the core principles of media freedom and the protection of media independence.

He stated that Montenegro now ranks 37th among 180 countries worldwide, saying: “Our country holds the highest position in the Balkans and ranks better than even ten EU countries, including the United States. This is a responsibility we carry with pride, as it also means freedom of expression for all citizens!”

Spajic emphasized that better standards, lower labor taxes, improved legislation fully aligned with EU norms, and full tolerance of criticism have resulted in more rights and freedoms for all, adding:

“Montenegro’s progress in the Press Freedom Index is encouraging, but we remain committed to improving the environment in which media professionals work. While our efforts to prosecute those who attack journalists are appreciated, Montenegro, as a modern state, must ensure sufficient protection in the online space where journalists face daily insults and threats. I congratulate all media professionals on World Press Freedom Day and hope they continue contributing to the democratization of society through their professionalism.”
