Lahbib: Protecting civilians is of urgent importance
Brussels, 20 November (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib reported that abductions and destruction in Cameroon’s Far North threaten lives and livelihoods.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that abductions and destruction in Cameroon’s Far North endanger lives and sources of livelihood.
Lahbib noted that attacks on public transport vehicles and the Bakarife–Kerawa refugee camp resulted in casualties, including a child, and displacement. She added: “As insecurity rises, the protection of civilians becomes urgently important.”
