Lavrov meets Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim in New York
New York, September 26 (Hibya) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohieldin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim met in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting addressed the conflict in Sudan and relations between the two countries.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ibrahim met in New York on September 25 as part of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting addressed the situation in Sudan in the context of the ongoing armed clashes between the regular army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim thanked Lavrov for Russia’s position in support of Sudan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two sides positively assessed their close coordination in the field of foreign policy at the United Nations. The meeting also addressed the further development of Russia-Sudan relations and efforts to expand trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation.
