Von der Leyen: More than $800 million in support for displaced people in Africa
Brussels, September 26 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that more than $800 million in support will be unveiled for displaced people in Africa and the communities hosting them.
European Commission President von der Leyen said in a post on her social media account that millions of people around the world are affected by conflict, extreme weather events and the rising cost of living.
Von der Leyen said Europe is providing support to those affected and announced that she will unveil more than $800 million in support for displaced people in Africa and the communities hosting them.
Von der Leyen also said assistance would be provided to communities affected by wars, noting that the support would be delivered as part of Global Citizen’s 2026 campaign activities.
