Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini issued a statement regarding the discussions surrounding the agency’s compound in East Jerusalem.

Rejecting the property claims reported in the media, Lazzarini said: “Contrary to media reports, the Israeli government does not own the property on which UNRWA’s Sheikh Jarrah compound in East Jerusalem is located, nor does it have any rights over it. The Israeli government’s claims are false and unlawful. No transfer of ownership has ever taken place.”

Providing information on the legal status of the land, Lazzarini stated: “UNRWA had been leasing this land from the Jordanian government since 1952. It is now being seized in a clear violation of international law. The International Court of Justice and the UN General Assembly have ruled that Israel’s presence in East Jerusalem is illegal and must end as soon as possible.”

Lazzarini concluded: “Israel has no sovereign rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the application of Israeli law there is unlawful.”
