UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini reminded that today marks the beginning of the second month of the siege on the people of Gaza.

Emphasizing that this siege targets children, women, the elderly, and ordinary people, Lazzarini said: “They are subjected to collective punishment for a reason beyond their control – simply for being born and living in Gaza. The State of Israel must lift the siege and allow the entry of basic necessities. Hostages must be released. Every passing day, in addition to those killed in bombings, the siege silently claims the lives of more children and women. It is time to show that we have not completely lost our humanity.”
