WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus: The situation in Gaza is catastrophic
Geneva, May 2 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the situation in Gaza, under Israeli attacks, is catastrophic.
Ghebreyesus noted that the situation in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels, stating: “Due to a two-month aid blockade, people are hungry, children are weak and malnourished – and we don’t need to see photos of emaciated children to understand that this has lifelong consequences.”
He emphasized that a ceasefire is essential for the release of hostages and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
