Leyen: We are expanding our broad trade network with our partners around the world
Brussels, 22 November (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU is carrying out reforms to restore a fair and rules-based trading system centered on the World Trade Organization.
In her statement, Ursula von der Leyen said: “Uncertainty is increasing. Imbalances, dependencies and expansions are turning into weapons.”
She emphasized the need for cooperation instead of conflict, and diversification instead of disruption, noting that the EU is implementing reforms to rebuild a fair and rules-based trading system with the WTO at its core.
“And we are expanding our broad trade network with our partners around the world,” Leyen added.
