Macron: France stands with the people of Israel
Paris, March 24 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron stated that tensions in the Middle East must be reduced and the dialogue process must be restarted.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he had spoken with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and assessed the latest developments in the region.
In his statement, Macron said:
“I spoke with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. I conveyed France’s solidarity with the people of Israel in the face of attacks by Iran and Hezbollah. These attacks must stop immediately.”
Emphasizing that parties in the Middle East must protect civilian and energy infrastructure and turn toward dialogue for peace, Macron added: “Iran must restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Preventing escalation in Lebanon and preserving the country’s stability and territorial integrity are essential. France’s priority is de-escalation and the protection of civilians. I also believe that direct talks between Israel and Lebanon should resume. France continues its efforts in this direction. The humanitarian situation in Gaza must not be forgotten, and violence against civilians in the West Bank must end.”
