Croatian Prime Minister Plenković discussed the progress of the Southern Gas Interconnection project during a working meeting with representatives of the U.S.-based AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC.

During the meeting, the technical, legal, and financial aspects of the project were reviewed, and the Croatian government’s support for the project was once again emphasized.

Plenković stated that the project is of critical importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy supply security and the diversification of natural gas sources. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to integrate Croatia’s gas system with that of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to strengthen the regional energy role of the LNG terminal on Krk Island through LNG Terminal Krk.

The Croatian government stated that the project is an important part of its strategy to strengthen energy connections between the two countries.
