Meloni: Italy once again at the forefront of European financial market supervision
Rome, September 15 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed the election of Carlo Comporti as chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a statement regarding the appointment of Carlo Comporti as chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
Meloni described Comporti's appointment as “Italian expertise at the highest level of European financial market supervision.” Noting that ESMA is one of the European Union's most important institutions, Meloni said, “Thanks to merit, Italy is once again taking a leading role where decisions are made.”
Meloni wished Comporti success in his new role.
