Merz: Hybrid attacks and drones threaten our security
Berlin, September 13 (Hibya) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during his visit to Finland, drew attention to the increase in hybrid attacks, severed cables and drone threats, emphasizing the importance of cooperation within NATO and the EU.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that they discussed security issues as part of the EU Arctic Summit, which he attended at the invitation of Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
Sharing his assessment of security threats, Merz said, “Hybrid attacks, severed cables and drones threaten our security. Finland and Germany take this situation seriously.”
Referring to joint efforts, Merz said, “To protect ourselves, we are working in close cooperation within NATO and the EU; these issues are also being addressed at the EU Arctic Summit.”
Merz concluded his statement by saying, “Thank you for the invitation, Petteri Orpo.”
