Miller: There is a historic lack of transparency and accountability
Washington, March 29 (Hibya) - US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that there is a lack of transparency in US military activities, pointing to disruptions in briefing processes by the Pentagon and CENTCOM.
US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller spoke about the public information policies of the Pentagon and CENTCOM.
Miller emphasized that no official statements have been made for a long time regarding Iran and military activity in the region, noting a disruption in the flow of information.
Criticizing the absence of official briefings, Miller said: “It has been 10 days since Hegseth and Caine’s last briefing on Iran. Since March 10, there has been no briefing from CENTCOM and no daily press briefing from the Pentagon.”
Pointing out that information on military operations has to be followed through social media and local videos rather than official sources, Miller stated:
“We learn more about what the US military is doing from videos on the ground than from the Department of Defense. There is a historic lack of transparency and accountability.”
