In a social media post, Rutte said the United Kingdom is one of NATO's leading allies.
Rutte said that by acting together within NATO they protect people and defend democracies, and welcomed the United Kingdom's planned increases in defense spending.
Rutte said they are facing a more dangerous world, adding that investments in defense also contribute to economic growth and the creation of new jobs.
