Netanyahu: Investigation into allegations of foreign interference must be allowed to proceed
Tel Aviv, November 3 (Hibya) - The Likud Party, led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, called for an expansion of the investigation into allegations that foreign actors interfered in elections.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Likud Party supported the call by the Lavi organization and urged Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to stop attempts to delay the investigation.
The statement called for the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) to be allowed to conduct its investigation without obstruction and for statements to be taken from members of parliament belonging to Arab parties and their aides. It also alleged that Baharav-Miara had extended lawmakers' parliamentary immunity to include their parliamentary aides, objecting to this practice.
Netanyahu's post argued that the suspicions concerning election financing and foreign influence were serious.
