Netanyahu: We brought Yehuda Katz's remains back to Israel
Jerusalem, August 18 (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the remains of Armored Corps Staff Sergeant Yehuda Yekutiel Katz, who was killed in the Battle of Sultan Yacoub during the First Lebanon War, have been brought back to Israel.
Netanyahu said the operation was carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Mossad, stating, “In a special operation, we brought home the remains of Armored Corps fighter Staff Sergeant Yehuda Yekutiel Katz.”
Netanyahu said he had authorized covert operations over the years to locate the soldiers who went missing in the Battle of Sultan Yacoub and had promised their families that efforts to bring them home would never stop.
Addressing the Katz family, Netanyahu said, “We are returning our dear Yehuda to you, to his brothers Avi and Perachia, and to the land of Israel that he loved so much.”
Thanking the Israel Defense Forces, Mossad, Shin Bet and the Coordinator for Missing Persons and Hostages, Netanyahu said, “The State of Israel and the Israeli government under my leadership remain committed to this mission and will continue to fulfill it.”
