Pakistan reacts to mosque demolition in India
Islamabad, September 6 (Hibya) – Pakistan condemned the demolition of a centuries-old mosque in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and called on the international community to act.
Pakistan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan issued a statement following reports that a centuries-old mosque was demolished on September 5 in Saharanpur, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Khan said, “Pakistan strongly condemns the demolition of the centuries-old mosque in Saharanpur.”
Describing the demolition as an act against the religious and cultural heritage of Muslims, Khan called on the international community to take action against the treatment of Muslims in India and the demolition of places of worship.
