Palestinian Foreign Ministry issues statement on Canada's recognition of Palestine
Ramallah, July 31 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed Canada's decision to recognize the State of Palestine.
In a statement, the ministry said it welcomed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's announcement confirming that Canada will formally recognize the State of Palestine this September at the United Nations General Assembly.
"This courageous and principled decision constitutes an important step toward achieving justice, peace, and the long-awaited realization of the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self-determination," the statement said.
