Pavel hosted King Philippe of Belgium
Prague, May 5 (Hibya) – Czech President Petr Pavel hosted King Philippe of Belgium at Prague Castle on the occasion of the upcoming 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Czech President Petr Pavel welcomed King Philippe of Belgium to Prague Castle in honor of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Pavel said: “We are grateful to Belgium for its contribution to the liberation of Czechoslovakia in the spring of 1945. On the other hand, Czechoslovak soldiers also played an important role in defending Belgium during the battles of Dunkirk in France and within the Royal Air Force in securing Belgium’s freedom. I presented King Philippe with the Order of the White Lion, the highest national honor, for strengthening the historical legacy of Belgians who contributed to the liberation of Czechoslovakia.”
