Prevot: Our thoughts are with the people of the Philippines
Brussels, November 8 (Hibya) – Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation, Maxime Prevot, said that their thoughts are with the people of the Philippines, who are facing great loss and destruction after Typhoon Tino.
Minister Prevot stated that they remember the victims and stand in solidarity with all those affected, mourning families, people who lost their homes, and communities struggling to rebuild.
“Belgium supports humanitarian intervention through its contribution to the United Nations World Food Programme, helping deliver food, shelter, and essential supplies to the areas where they are most needed. Beyond the emergency, this tragedy reminds us of the urgent need to strengthen climate resilience and local capacity in the most vulnerable regions,” Prevot said.
He added that the Belgian Embassy in Manila continues to maintain close contact with the Belgian community in the Philippines.
“As a new tropical storm forms, Belgium stands in solidarity with the Filipino people and with everyone working tirelessly to save lives and rebuild hope,” he concluded.
