Qatar's Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, met with World Food Programme (WFP) Acting Executive Director Carl Skau on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

According to a statement by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting reviewed cooperation between the State of Qatar and the World Food Programme in the areas of food security and humanitarian response.

The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen partnerships to ensure that aid reaches the communities most in need.

Qatar's Minister of State for International Cooperation Al Misnad emphasized that humanitarian diplomacy is one of the fundamental pillars of the State of Qatar's foreign policy and international efforts. Al Misnad highlighted the importance of such diplomacy in strengthening responses to crises and conflicts.
