Qatar’s Permanent Representative Al Muftah attended the 72nd UNCTAD session
Geneva, 24 November (Hibya) – Qatar’s Permanent Representative in Geneva, Dr. Hind Abdul Rahman Al Muftah, attended the opening of the 72nd session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), calling for support for the Palestinian people.
Al Muftah, Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, took part in the opening of the 72nd session of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Board. The meeting was held at the UN’s Geneva headquarters.
In her remarks, Al Muftah expressed support for the statements made by the Arab Group, the Group of 77 and China, and the Asia-Pacific Group, drawing attention to the assistance provided to the Palestinian people as highlighted in the UNCTAD report. She emphasized the importance of support due to the worsening humanitarian crisis and economic collapse in Palestine, exacerbated by the effects of the war.
Al Muftah stressed that Qatar continues its efforts to support the Palestinian people and alleviate their humanitarian suffering, outlining the main aspects of the assistance Qatar provides in cooperation with other states and organizations. She also emphasized the need for these efforts to continue in line with the Geneva Consensus Declaration and the outcome document of the UNCTAD 16 conference held in October.
