Schoof said, “There could be no more fitting place to welcome the Polish President than Wageningen, a location that bears the historical traces of the strong ties between the Netherlands and Poland.
About 100 Polish soldiers, after participating in Operation Market Garden, made the ultimate sacrifice here. I look back with deep gratitude at their heroic and selfless role during that time.”
