Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Ukraine’s defence capabilities, EU integration and sanctions against Russia were discussed during his meeting with North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski.

Describing the scope of the meeting, Sybiha said, “We held comprehensive discussions on our bilateral agenda, focusing in particular on strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and energy resilience, advancing our countries toward EU membership, Euro-Atlantic integration, accountability for Russia’s aggression and Ukraine’s recovery.”

Providing information on the situation on the ground and the support provided, Sybiha said, “I briefed my colleague on the battlefield situation and Russia’s intensifying terror against Ukrainian cities, especially Kyiv. I thanked North Macedonia for its support, including 13 military aid packages since 2022, as well as for its participation in the PURL initiative and the Coalition of the Willing.”

Sybiha concluded his statement by saying, “We agreed that sanctions pressure on Russia must be further increased.”
