Qatar sends field hospital to earthquake-hit Colombia
Bogota, September 4 (Hibya) – An aircraft belonging to the Qatar Armed Forces delivered a field hospital provided by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) to Colombia to support those affected by the earthquake in the country.
According to a statement from Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an aircraft belonging to the Qatar Armed Forces transported a fully equipped field hospital provided by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) to the Republic of Colombia to support those affected by the recent earthquake in Colombia.
The field hospital will be used to support Colombian health authorities and healthcare facilities in areas affected by the earthquake.
The hospital is intended to provide emergency healthcare to people affected by the earthquake, support the capacity of the health sector and contribute to the continuity of medical services during the emergency response.
Qatar’s International Search and Rescue Group (Lekhwiya), affiliated with the Internal Security Force, was reported to have taken part in setting up and handing over the field hospital so that healthcare services could begin as quickly as possible.
