Sybiha: Moscow is conducting a campaign of murder, destruction and intimidation
Kiev, May 4 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that 6 people were killed in a Russian attack on the city of Merefa in the Kharkiv region.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha shared his assessments regarding the situation in the region and defense needs following attacks targeting civilian settlements.
Providing information about the consequences and nature of the attack, Sybiha said: “Russia deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure in Merefa, Kharkiv region, killing at least 6 people and injuring around two dozen. This is a cold-blooded terrorist attack with no military justification; there are no military facilities in the area where the attack took place.”
Criticizing Russia’s strategy, Sybiha stated: “This is a calculated policy of terror against the Ukrainian people. Moscow, fully aware of its crimes, is conducting a campaign of murder, destruction and intimidation.”
Emphasizing the need to increase pressure on Moscow, Sybiha said: “Every such attack is a direct result of insufficient pressure on the aggressor. Delays and hesitation encourage the Kremlin to kill more civilians. This must stop.”
Highlighting Ukraine’s urgent needs, Sybiha added: “Ukraine urgently needs strengthened air defense capabilities, investments in the defense industry, and decisive action to cut Russia’s economic ability to continue this war.”
