Sybiha: Strong pressure remains critically important
Kyiv, October 20 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that maintaining strong pressure on Moscow remains critically important.
Sybiha stated that the Ukrainian delegation had traveled to Luxembourg to participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council and to focus on the next steps toward achieving a just peace.
He emphasized that “strong pressure on Moscow remains essential,” adding: “This includes the EU’s 19th sanctions package and the full use of frozen Russian assets.”
Sybiha said he would brief his EU colleagues on Russia’s latest attacks on Ukraine and the need for energy assistance ahead of winter, noting:
“We will also focus on defense cooperation, including the PURL initiative and the SAFE mechanism, as well as strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and long-range capabilities. In the face of Russian threats, we need an integrated European air defense system, of which Ukraine is an integral part. During my stay in Luxembourg, I also plan to hold a series of bilateral meetings with our partners.”
