Tsahkna: We must adopt the 19th sanctions package without delay
Tallinn, October 20 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that the 19th sanctions package against Russia must be adopted without delay and that the 20th package should be accelerated.
Tsahkna stated that Russia is escalating its war in Ukraine and becoming increasingly bold with provocations on EU territory.
“We need to act,” Tsahkna said. “We must strengthen our support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. That was my message at today’s EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg.”
Tsahkna emphasized that the 19th sanctions package must be adopted without delay and the 20th accelerated, adding: “We must also continue to use Russia’s frozen assets. It is the aggressor, and it must pay the price.”
