Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide at a trilateral summit in Helsinki.
The meeting reviewed the telephone conversations held by the leaders of Finland and Norway with Russian President Vladimir Putin and subsequently with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Sybiha stated that these contacts had been coordinated with Ukraine and expressed appreciation for the active support given to the peace process.
The summit also addressed preparations for a planned trilateral meeting in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"We are ready for partial ceasefires and an end to hostilities"
Emphasizing Ukraine's determination to end the war, Sybiha said, "We have workable proposals and solutions. We are ready for partial ceasefires and a complete cessation of hostilities. However, everything must be fair, and we will not take any unilateral steps."
Sybiha also addressed the humanitarian operation in Oleshky, noting that Ukraine's Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets was coordinating the operation on the ground and that this step could serve as an important confidence-building measure in the peace process.
Attack on Kyiv and defense support
Drawing attention to Russia's latest attack on Kyiv involving 16 ballistic missiles, Sybiha emphasized that Moscow was continuing its policy of terror. Thanking the Nordic countries for their military and civil defense support for Ukraine, Minister Sybiha expressed appreciation for the leadership roles of Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden in the pursuit of a just and lasting peace.
