Sybiha: We trust Denmark’s EU Presidency
Kyiv, July 14 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine trusts Denmark’s presidency of the European Union and its leadership in making essential decisions in the areas of defense, deterrence, and enlargement.
Sybiha expressed his gratitude to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas for inviting him to attend tomorrow’s EU Foreign Affairs Council virtually.
He said he would thank the EU and its member states for their support and encourage bold steps to strengthen Ukraine and all of Europe: “The time has come to impose tough sanctions on Moscow and apply coordinated pressure with the United States. All sanctions must be fully enforced, and Russia must be deprived of the oil revenues it uses to wage war.”
Sybiha emphasized that it is time to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and increase investment in the country’s high-tech defense industry.
“It is time to ensure maximum unity within the EU, as well as in the transatlantic alliance. This is especially important for advancing Ukraine’s long-awaited EU membership. We trust Denmark’s EU Presidency and Danish leadership in delivering the necessary decisions on defense, deterrence, and enlargement.”
