Tajani: We will honor the memory of Lorena and the victims of femicide
Rome, September 5 (Hibya) - Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said the fight against femicide must continue and expressed support for Franco Isceri's appeal.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in a statement that Franco Isceri's words had deeply affected him.
Tajani said Lorena was a victim of femicide, adding that he supported Isceri's appeal and that more work was needed to promote a culture that truly respects women.
Tajani said femicide is the result of a mindset in which love is distorted into possession, noting that the government and ruling parties have been working on the issue but that further steps are needed.
Tajani said, “I will devote myself completely, and together with me, my entire party, the women and men serving in institutions and on the ground, will work beyond ideological boundaries to ensure that Father Franco's appeal does not go unanswered. In this way, we can honor the memory of Lorena and all victims of femicide.”
