According to information shared by KRIB, a study conducted by Yettel on mobile device usage habits revealed that one in four people in Bulgaria prefers to use their smartphone for as long as it continues to function. The survey found that 64 percent of respondents had used their most recent phone for more than three years, with battery performance cited as the main reason for replacing a device. It was also noted that the features offered by new models influence users' decisions to upgrade their phones.
Another report published by KRIB presented the findings of a study by the Vienna University of Economics and Business, shared through the Bulgarian News Agency.
The study found that the growing electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence applications could encourage investments in battery and long-duration energy storage technologies. It stated that, with an appropriate regulatory framework, such investments could increase the use of renewable energy and strengthen the resilience of the energy system.
The researchers also concluded that supporting flexibility in data center energy consumption and encouraging investment in energy storage are among the factors that could accelerate the energy transition.
