Trump: Contrary to false rumors, eliminating the filibuster is a major threat
Washington, Aug. 6 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump warned Republican senators while criticizing Michigan Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed's stance on eliminating the filibuster.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, whom he described as a "Communist Democrat" Senate candidate from Michigan, supports ending the filibuster, adding: "I watched him yesterday, and he's gone crazy over the filibuster. My respected Republican Senators, all my friends, please remember this."
Pointing to the political consequences of such a move, Trump said: "If they succeed, the Democrats will gain four more Senators, eight Members of Congress, many Electoral and Popular Votes, a packed Supreme Court with 23 Justices, and unfortunately, despite the great job we've done, I will be the last Republican President!"
