Stockholm, February 12 (Hibya) - According to the South China Morning Post, Trump is expected to visit China in April and approve the extension of the trade truce.
According to sources familiar with the matter, U.S. President Donald Trump may approve the extension of the trade truce for up to one year during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing in April.
Sources stated that Trump’s initial planned arrival date in China is March 31, and a three-day program has been arranged, including bilateral meetings with Xi. However, sources added that the exact timing is still being discussed, as China is also considering the Qingming Festival on April 5.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that President Xi Jinping reiterated his invitation for Trump to visit China during their phone conversation last week.
Lin emphasized the importance of the discussions between the two presidents, adding, “The two sides are in communication on this matter.”
