Trump Jr. says the U.S. may end its support for Ukraine
Stockholm, December 8 (Hibya) – The eldest son of the U.S. president said at a Middle East conference in Doha that Donald Trump may pull out of the war in Ukraine.
Donald Trump Jr., in a lengthy tirade against the continuation of the war in Ukraine, claimed that Ukraine’s “corrupt” wealthy elites fled the country, leaving behind those they consider the “peasant class” to fight.
Trump Jr. holds no official role in his father’s administration but is a key figure in the MAGA movement. His remarks reflect the hostility some in Trump’s team feel toward the Ukrainian government.
He stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is prolonging the war because he knows that if it ends, he will never win an election. He added that Zelenskyy is almost worshipped by the political left, yet argued that Ukraine is a far more corrupt country than Russia.
Without offering evidence, Trump Jr. claimed that during a single day this summer in Monaco, he saw that 50% of supercars such as Bugatti and Ferrari had Ukrainian plates.
He added: “When we see that all the plates in Monaco are Ukrainian, we hear all the rumors about what’s going on. The wealthy fled and left behind those they view as the peasant class to keep these wars going. There was no incentive to stop, because as long as the money train arrived and they were stealing, nobody was monitoring anything — so there was no reason to seek peace.”
When asked whether it was possible that his father — who is running for election claiming he can bring peace to Ukraine — might simply walk away, Trump Jr. said he might, adding that his father is one of the most unpredictable people in politics. He also stated that the U.S. would no longer be the “fool with a checkbook.”
