Tsahkna: Putin will be tried for the crimes he committed
Tallinn, May 9 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that, together with his EU colleagues, they are advancing the establishment of a Special Tribunal to hold Russia accountable for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
Tsahkna stated that Ukraine has ratified the founding documents of the Tribunal and will apply to the Council of Europe to assist in its implementation.
Emphasizing that aggression will not go unpunished, Tsahkna said: "The immunity of Russia’s top leadership will end with their terms of office, and Putin will be tried for the crimes he has committed. No perpetrator of the crime of aggression is above international law. Estonia fully supports the Special Tribunal. Justice for Ukraine is justice for everyone who believes in a rules-based world."
