Ukraine: Russian attacks damaged 4,650 educational facilities
Kyiv, September 9 (Hibya) - Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that 4,650 educational facilities across the country have been damaged as a result of Russia's full-scale war, while 423 educational facilities have been completely destroyed.
Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a post on social media to mark the International Day to Protect Education from Attack.
Stating that education is a fundamental right, the ministry said children should be able to go to school without fear, develop their skills and interests, meet with their friends and make plans for their future.
The ministry said that because of Russia's full-scale war, going to school has become a daily struggle for Ukrainian children. Since the start of the war, 4,650 educational facilities have been damaged by Russian attacks, while 423 have been completely destroyed.
The statement said the damage caused by the war is not limited to buildings and continues to create problems regarding children's access to education and their safety.
Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an end to "Russian terror" against Ukrainian civilians and for the aggressor to be brought to justice.
