UN High Commissioner Türk: Access to medicines is a human right
New York, December 1 (Hibya) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk warned that millions of people living with HIV face endangered access to health services due to global funding shortages, stressing that access to medicines is a human right.
Türk stated that global funding shortages are threatening access to health services for millions of people living with HIV.
Emphasizing that access to medicines is a human right, Türk called on the international community to take urgent action, warning that without immediate steps the world risks losing the opportunity to end AIDS.
