UN Secretary-General Guterres: The last 10 years have been the hottest period on record
New York, October 22 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated in his remarks on the climate crisis that the past decade has been the hottest period ever recorded in history.
Guterres emphasized that ocean temperatures have reached record highs and that no country is completely safe from the impacts of extreme weather events.
Highlighting the upcoming COP30 Climate Summit, Guterres said that countries must present bold and effective new national climate action plans to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
