UNRWA: Aid reaching Gaza is insufficient, Israel must allow it
New York, August 26 (Hibya) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that the humanitarian aid reaching the Gaza Strip is insufficient to meet current needs.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini highlighted the deepening humanitarian crisis in his statement, saying: "Everyone with influence must act decisively and with a sense of moral responsibility. Every hour is extremely precious."
Lazzarini stressed that the situation is reversible and called on Israel. "The State of Israel must allow humanitarian aid, including UNRWA aid, to enter Gaza," he said, emphasizing that increasing aid is an urgent necessity.
UNRWA notes that civilians are at great risk due to the lack of access to basic needs in areas where conflicts continue.
