UNRWA: Mental health support in Gaza is life-saving
New York, January 13 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that since the start of the war in Gaza it has provided thousands of psychosocial support sessions to families and children coping with trauma and stress.
According to a statement by UNRWA, efforts are ongoing to address the psychological impact of the continuing clashes in the Gaza Strip on civilians.
Emphasizing the importance of mental health services, UNRWA said: “Mental health support in Gaza is life-saving. Since the beginning of the war, UNRWA has provided thousands of psychosocial support sessions to displaced families and children trying to cope with trauma, loss, and constant stress.”
UNRWA added that it will continue to deliver critical services through counselors, social workers, and health teams wherever needs exist.
