Uzbek Foreign Minister Saidov held a roundtable meeting attended by Japan Business Federation Chairman Takeshi Hashimoto and executives and representatives of leading Japanese companies.

Representatives of companies and organizations including Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Sojitz, All Nippon Airways, Shimizu, JETRO, Sumitomo, JBIC, Toyo Engineering, Toyota Tsusho, Marubeni, Mitsui and Mitsubishi attended the meeting.

Saidov said the meeting discussed further expanding economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, supporting the activities of Japanese companies in Uzbekistan and implementing new investment projects.

New opportunities in energy, transport and logistics, infrastructure, agriculture, textiles, digitalization and human resource development were also discussed.

Saidov said the open and implementation-oriented discussions represented an important step toward developing cooperation with the Japanese business community through concrete projects and new initiatives.
