Weel: The Netherlands continues its support for Ukraine with determination
Vienna, December 4 (Hibya) – Dutch Foreign Minister and NATO Deputy Secretary General David van Weel outlined the challenges facing the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
Van Weel stated: “The OSCE has been one of the cornerstones of European security for decades. Today, however, we face serious challenges.”
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, he said: “We are at a critical moment for Ukraine and Europe. Russia’s aggression cannot be rewarded, and Ukraine’s sovereignty is not up for debate. I emphasized this in Vienna.”
He added: “I also highlighted the widespread repression in Russia and Belarus, as well as Russia’s unjust detention of three OSCE staff members.”
Van Weel concluded: “I expressed my concerns about the deteriorating human rights situation in Georgia.”
