Wong announces travel advisory update for 6 countries
Canberra, 17 June (Hibya) - Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced that the general travel advisory level for six countries, including Israel and Gulf states, has been lowered, while urging continued caution.
Referring to the security dynamics and travel planning in those countries, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong urged citizens to consider risks when travelling.
Wong said in the update: “Today, Australia has lowered its general travel advisory for Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, and advised travellers to reassess their need to travel.”
She warned that instability in the region continues: “We continue to urge Australians to postpone non-essential travel to these countries. The security situation can deteriorate with very little warning.”
